LIV Golf star Ben Campbell is set to defend his International Series Morocco title at the renowned Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat, competing in a strong field for the fourth event of The International Series season from July 3–6.
The New Zealander, who secured a dramatic playoff win against in-form John Catlin on the Red Course last year, will once again face his American rival. Catlin, a six-time Asian Tour champion, aims to improve on last season’s runner-up finish, when Campbell’s eagle and birdie on the final holes clinched victory.
South African 2011 Masters champion Charl Schwartzel, a competitor in the LIV Golf League at Stinger GC, brings significant major credentials to the tournament. Meanwhile, American Peter Uihlein, Campbell’s teammate at RangeGoats GC, is also a strong contender after winning twice on The International Series last year in England and Qatar.
Also in the field is HyFlyers GC’s Andy Ogletree from the United States, the 2019 US Amateur champion who advanced to LIV Golf after topping the International Series Rankings in 2023. Thai player Jazz Janewattananond, a multiple Asian Tour winner who claimed his seventh title at the first International Series Morocco event in 2022, will also compete.
For 33-year-old Campbell, Morocco holds special significance beyond just another tournament stop—it marks the breakthrough moment in his LIV Golf League career.
His 2024 International Series Morocco victory was a turning point, sparking a strong season that included three top-five finishes late in the year. This impressive form caught the attention of two-time Masters winner Bubba Watson, leading to Campbell’s selection for Watson’s RangeGoats GC team.
“Returning to Morocco is incredibly special,” Campbell said. “Last year’s win really changed the trajectory of my career. The course, the energy there, it all came together for something unforgettable. I’m excited to be back and ready to defend the title.”
Campbell, a two-time International Series winner after also taking the 2023 Hong Kong Open, finished third in last year’s International Series Rankings and was second on the Asian Tour Order of Merit behind Catlin.
He has had a strong debut season in the LIV Golf League, notably finishing third at LIV Golf Singapore, and currently ranks 25th in the standings.
Rahul Singh, Head of The International Series, commented, “Morocco has been a key destination for The International Series. We have seen two incredible tournaments there on a world-class course, providing real growth opportunities for the region’s top players.
“The players enjoy competing there, and the atmosphere is building as the event approaches. This year’s high-caliber field, featuring stars from both the Asian Tour and LIV Golf, promises another memorable week that showcases the global appeal and prestige of The International Series.”
As the fourth of ten elevated events on the Asian Tour schedule, the Morocco tournament plays a crucial role in the season-long International Series Rankings race, which offers players a pathway to the LIV Golf League.
The International Series Rankings champion earns a guaranteed spot on the 2026 LIV Golf roster, while other top finishers gain entry to the LIV Golf Promotions event, an alternative route onto the league.
This event also marks the eighth stop of the Asian Tour season, following three International Series tournaments held so far in India, Macau, and Japan.
